GOODBYE WEST COAST
April 27, 2026
We said goodbye to the west coast of Princess Royal Island this morning. The tide tables were showing us that if we left Milne Island early enough, we could ride the flood tide almost the entire way back to Sarah Island without having to fight the ebb tide, or at least that was the hope. We left camp just after low tide which resulted in some almost too shallow water to pass between the islands, but some scootching got us through. There was little to no wind on our crossing back from Milne Island to Princess Royal island which was a welcome change.
